Medical Hypnosis may very well be the original mind/body therapy
It is a tool that can be used in the practice as an adjustment therapy in the treatment of various conditions and addictions that have a negative impact on a person’s life quality. Dr. Milton Erickson (1901 – 1980), one of the pioneers of hypnotherapy, defined hypnosis as a natural, everyday experience of subconscious learning via successful communication.
Most clinicians agree that hypnotherapy is more effective through a shorter time of therapy and longer lasting due to a change of thought patterns. The technique is used for medical and psychological purposes to relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other challenges or otherwise to improve or alter behavior. As a scientific diagnostic and therapeutic method, hypnotherapy enjoys high scientific and professional standing – see articles.
