I started a career in teaching after completing B.Home Economics (US). Although brief, I found my teaching career at Gelofte High school, where I taught Home Economics and Natural Science, highly satisfactory.

I started studying Psychology through Unisa. The family moved to Bloemfontein where my lecturing career took off at the University as a junior lecturer.

During this time I took advantage of the opportunity to further my studies as well. I completed my M.Psig.(UOFS) and D.Ed (UNISA).

When the family moved to Johannesburg I continued lecturing and enrolled at UNISA’s Faculty of Psychology for more in-depth studies due to my enquiring interests in psychology. With my M.Psy (UNISA) studies I received additional registration at the HPCSA.

I’ve completed advanced training in counseling youth (UP) and completed formal professional training in Clinical Medical Hypnosis.
I’m a Registered Educational and Counseling Psychologist. I did my internship in Education, Clinical and Vocational Psychology through the University of the Orange Free State, offering me the opportunity due to additional qualifications. It was also the first time that the University offered the three specialisation fields.

I’ve had a private practice at Netcare Constantia Clinic, for almost 24 years. I went into private practice, after being a senior lecturer in the Faculty Human Sciences at a university for about 12 years. I lectured Education and Psychology for students from their first year up to being a promoter for masters and doctoral students. I was also an external examiner for UP, UNISA, and NWU.
