D.Ed Psy (UNISA)

After completing my degree in Nutritional Science at the University of Stellenbosch, I began my teaching career at Gelofte High School. Although my time there was brief, it was immensely fulfilling and laid the foundation for my future endeavours.
Eager to delve deeper into the human mind, I began studying Psychology through UNISA. After our family relocated to Bloemfontein, I started my lecturing career at the University of the Free State as a junior lecturer. This was a pivotal period that allowed me to further my academic pursuits.
I went on to complete my master’s degree in Psychology (M.Psych.) at the University of the Free State (UFS) and my Doctorate in Education (D.Ed.) at UNISA.
The next chapter of my career unfolded in Johannesburg, where I continued lecturing and enrolled in UNISA’s Faculty of Psychology for further studies, driven by my growing curiosity about the field. These efforts culminated in a master’s degree in Psychology (M.Psych.), which enabled my additional registration with the HPCSA.
I further refined my skills through advanced training in counselling youth at the University of Pretoria (UP) and received formal professional training in Clinical Medical Hypnosis. These qualifications allow me to practise as a Registered Educational and Counselling Psychologist.
My practical training was comprehensive, including internships in Educational, Clinical, and Vocational Psychology through the University of the Orange Free State. This unique opportunity—offered by the University for the first time—enabled me to specialise in all three fields.
After 12 years as a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Human Sciences, where I taught Education and Psychology across undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervised master’s and doctoral students, I transitioned into private practice. For nearly 14 years, I successfully ran a practice at Constantia Netcare Clinic. During this time, I also served as an external examiner for several prestigious institutions, including the University of Pretoria (UP), UNISA, and North-West University (NWU).
My journey has been one of continuous learning and dedication, guided by a deep commitment to understanding and supporting others. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience through my psychological practice, offering insight, compassion, and guidance to those seeking support.
